Art Journaling with Pencils

Art Journal or artist’s papers.   Mixed media paper or Vellum Bristol board are recommended. 

        (Elizabeth used Canson 9” x 12” Mixed media spiral bound pad)

8B graphite drawing pencil

Eraser

Workable Fixative

small Paint brush

Sharpie Pen

Shape Template  (Elizabeth used a circle.  Use whatever you like!)

Colored Pencil blender   (Elizabeth used the Derwent Burnisher and the Lyra Splender Blender)

Wax paper

A variety of types of artist pencils. 

        There are no requirements.  Begin with what you have and add more as you have the desire.  For   

        her demonstration, Elizabeth used the following:

                Prismacolor Premier colored pencils

                Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils

                Caran d’Ache Pablo colored pencils

                Derwent Inktense

                Watercolor pencils

                Faber-Castell Pitt brush marker

In this workshop, Elizabeth will introduce a variety of elements that can be used to design your own personalized art journal pages.  These techniques use artist’s pencils to create a layered and painterly look.   


Elizabeth will draw a journal page on camera showing the entire process.  With the completion of this workshop you will be ready to fill
